  309.  process the tagged files.

  312.  This option will allow you to add or
  313.  update the compressed file comments.

  319.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  322.  This option allow you to specify which
  323.  files to extract from the compressed
  324.  file. You may specify more the one
  325.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  326.  cards are allowed.

  329.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  330.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  331.  of files in a window.  After the window
  332.  is displayed you tag the files to
  333.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.

  335.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  336.  files.

  339.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  340.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  341.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  342.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  343.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  344.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  345.  completed to results will be listed on the
  346.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  347.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  348.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  349.  
  350. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  351.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  352.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  353.  of files in a window.  After the window
  354.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  355.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  356.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  357.  key to process the tagged files.
  358.  
  359. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  360.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  361.  files from the compressed file into the
  362.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  363.  via the ALT-P command.

  365. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  366.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  367.  and directory of where any extracted files
  368.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  369.  follows:
  370.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  371.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  372.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  373.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  374.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  375.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  376.  use it's floating extract location
  377.  logic.
  378.  
  379. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  380.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  381.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  382.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  383.  
  384. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  385.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  386.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  387.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  388.  file search pattern and press the enter
  389.  key.
  390.  The display will be repositioned to the
  391.  first or next file that matches the
  392.  pattern.

  395.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  396.  the tagged file display line at the
  397.  bottom of the screen.

  400.  This option allows you to UPDATE files

  402.  of files in a window.  After the window
  403.  is displayed you tag the files to
  404.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.

  407.  files.

  410.  This option will display the master
  411.  comment record and the file comment
  412.  records for the selected compressed

  416.  This option will extract ALL files from
  417.  the compressed file into the current
  418.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  419.  the ALT-P command.

  422.  This option allows run a program against
  423.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  424.  to enter the program name to run, the
  425.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  426.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  427.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  428.  to pause after each execution of your
  429.  program.
  430.  
  431. *altz  !!virus check!!
  432.  This option will check files to see if they
  433.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  434.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  435.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  436.  and have used the configuration program to
  437.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  439.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  440.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  443.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  444.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  445.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  446.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  447.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  448.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  449.  compressed file contents screen.
  450.  
  451. *c  !!create-new!!
  452.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  453.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  454.  to enter the
  455.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  456.  compressed file to create, whether you
  457.  want to add or move files into the new
  458.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  459.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  460.  new compressed file.
  461.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  462.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  463.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  464.  HAP, and UC2 files!!!!!
  465.  
  466.  You will also be asked if you want to
  467.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  468.  the entered file spec as is.
  469.  
  470.  If the compression program you choose
  471.  supports saving path information you will
  472.  also be asked if you want to save
  473.  directory information, and if you want to
  474.  recurse the directory tree.
  475.  
  476.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  477.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  478.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  479.  information that can be stored inside the
  480.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  481.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  482.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  483.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)

  486. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  487.  This option will delete all tagged files
  488.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  489.  asked to verify the delete before the
  490.  files are actually deleted from the
  491.  compressed file.
  492.  
  493. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  494.  This option will extract all tagged
  495.  files from the compressed file.
  496.  
  497. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  498.  This option will activate the alternate
  499.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  500.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  501.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  502.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  503.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  504.  
  505. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  506.  This option will set the compressed
  507.  file's time and date to the time and
  508.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  509.  the compressed file.
  510.  
  511. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  512.  This option will untag all currently
  513.  tagged files.
  514.  
  515. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  516.  This option will tag all files in the
  517.  currently displayed window.
  518.  
  519. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  520.  This option will convert a self
  521.  extracting file back to its native
  522.  compressed file format. The self
  523.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  524.  The normal compressed file will be
  525.  built on the same drive and directory
  526.  where self extracting file is found.
  527.  
  528. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  529.  This option allows you to copy all
  530.  tagged files from the current compressed
  531.  file into another compressed file.  The
  532.  target compressed file may be any
  533.  currently supported format.
  534.  
  535. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  536.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  537.  drop you off into disk and directory
  538.  that is specified as the extract
  539.  location.
  540.  
  541. *d  !!delete one file!!
  542.  This option will delete the currently
  543.  highlighted file from the compressed
  544.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  545.  delete before the delete is actually
  546.  done.
  547.  
  548. *e  !!extract one file!!
  549.  This option will extract the currently
  550.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  551.  drive and directory, or the
  552.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  553.  the ALT-P command.
  554.  
  555. *f      !!freshen!!
  556.  Using this option you can specify the
  557.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  558.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  559.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  560.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  561.  extensions.
  562.  
  563. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  564.  This option will temporarily exit to
  565.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  566.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  567.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  568.  the return key.
  569.  
  570. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  571.  This option will temporarily exit to
  572.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  573.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  574.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  575.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  576.  
  577. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  578.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  579.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  580.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  581.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  582.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  583.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  584.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  585.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  586.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  587.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  588.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  589.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  590.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  591.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  592.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  593.  
  594. *af2 !!smart extract
  595.  This option will invoke the smart extract function.
  596.  Smart extract will analyze the list of tagged
  597.  files and will attempt to fill the target
  598.  drive.  If all files will not fit on the target
  599.  drive a message will be displayed and the files
  600.  that could not be copied will remain tagged.
  601.  
  602. *f8  !!edit!!
  603.  This option will allow you to edit a
  604.  file in the compressed file.  This
  605.  option will only work if you specified
  606.  an editor to use when you configured
  607.  compressedPER.
  608.  
  609. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  610.  F9 allows you to indicate how to sort
  611.  the list.
  612.  ALT-F9 allows you to specify the sort
  613.  order for each sort type. The sort
  614.  order specified will remain in effect
  615.  until you exit SHEZ or re-specify.

  617. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  618.  This option will allow you to set the
